Pandora Mixed Choir

Tuesdays 19.00 - 21.00

Experience the power singing in a group with the Pandora Mixed Choir!
Music brings energy, emotion, and connection like no other. We are a group of 22 amateur singers from around the world. Whether you’re new or experienced, our inclusive choir welcomes everyone to join and celebrate the joy of singing together.

Pandora Choir was born in November 2021. Our conductor is the Italian classical singer Elisa De Toffol. During the rehearsals she is sharing her talent and knowledge with us, guiding the choir on voice technique, music phrasing, different styles and the essential art of singing together.

We hold two major concerts each year—one in June and one in December. For this reason, new members can join only in January or September.

Commitment is key! Regular attendance ensures you feel confident on stage and can fully enjoy the experience.

Frequent questions…
35d3d8ed-207f-47cb-a289-05c2b5fb4615.jpeg

Is it necessary to have choral experience? Choral experience is not required! Some singers have a degree in music and for others this is their first musical experience :)

What happens if I miss a rehearsal? Nothing, as long as it is not too often! You will have all the necessary materials to practice at home if you missed a session. Keep in mind that it is mandatory to attend at least 70% of the rehearsals in order to participate in the concert.

Do I need to know how to read music? We work with music scores but not everyone can properly read. You will learn along the journey. We also have a google drive where the conductor will share the audio files of the most complex pieces.

I don’t know which type of voice I have. No worries! Elisa will guide you and make sure that you are in the right section :)

Which kind of pieces do you sing? Our repertoire blends original arrangements of pop and soul classics—such as Isn’t She Lovely, Heal the World, Life on Mars, Imagine, Africa, and Can You Feel the Love Tonight—with traditional folk songs from around the world, each deeply rooted in its cultural heritage, including Bella Ciao, Baba Yetu, Telema Ngwi, Tongo, Amavolovolo, La Cucaracha, and Siyahamba. We also include classical to contemporary works and film music, featuring composers such as Holst, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Morricone.

In which language are the rehearsals? We rehearse in English.

Where do you rehearse? Our rehearsals are in Pandora Studio (De Constant Rebecquestraat 3, The Hague).

Share your talent with friends and family

Every year we organize two concerts—one at Christmas and another in the summer. These events are a wonderful opportunity to share our passion with friends, family, and anyone curious to discover our music. After each performance, we host a cheerful lunch, a great moment to meet new people while enjoying good food and drinks!

Who we are

We are not a professional choir—just a dedicated group of amateurs who love singing, growing in music and doing our best together. Our members come from many countries and age groups. We’ve created a warm, welcoming, and safe space where everyone feels at home.
It’s a place to learn about yourself, develop your voice, and build meaningful friendships. Most importantly, we have fun and share beautiful moments together!

Elisa De Toffol

Elisa De Toffol is an Italian professional singer, singing teacher, and music therapist based in The Hague, The Netherlands. With a wide musical interest and a diverse vocal background that first led her to jazz, pop, and Italian music, and later to obtain her bachelor’s degree in classical singing (Bresca’s Conservatory, Italy) her master’s degree in early music singing (Royal Conservatory of The Hague, NL) as well as a master’s degree in music therapy (ArtEZ University of the Arts, Enschede), Elisa works as a soloist, performing in renowned theaters and festivals, both within and outside Europe. To cite some: Time Spans Festival New York, US; Salzburg Festspiele, Austria; Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Germany: Opera Forward Festival Amsterdam, Oude Muziek festival Utrecht, Netherlands; Resis Festival Coruña, Spain.

After teaching for several years at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague as an Italian vocal coach, she now passionately and dedicatedly guides individual students and groups of different nationalities and levels through their own musical journeys—both in her private practice (individual lessons) and at Pandora Studio (as a choral conductor)—while continuing her activity as a performing singer. Her eclectic vocal studies and wide performance experience allow her to work with a broad range of students and work across a variety of musical genres and styles. At the core of her approach stand three key principles: connection, technique, and expression.

“Singing is an incredible power to connect to yourself and to the world around you through this other incredible thing called Music. There is no interpretation without technique, and vice versa. That’s why, to help students find their balance and their connection with their voice, I always try to work with sensitive ears open to the nature of the voice and the needs of the human behind it.”
