Creative Writing Workshop in The Hague
11 weekly sessions from September until November.
Sundays, with two-hour weekly sessions from 11h until 13h.
Trial sessions on August 30th and September 6th from 11h until 13h.
Final reading (optional) on November 29th at 16h
Join our Creative Writing workshop and discover your own voice through playful exercises in fiction, poetry and scriptwriting. Explore character, structure, style and world-building in a warm and intimate setting, and finish the course with an optional reading at Pandora Studio.
Whether you are writing for the first time or already have ideas you would like to develop, this course offers a welcoming and supportive space to experiment, build confidence and enjoy the creative process.
Professional writer Sarah Blake will guide participants through fun, motivational and thought-provoking exercises. Together, the group will explore different forms of writing, including fiction, poetry and scripts for theatre and audio.
You will also investigate some of the foundations of creative writing, such as characterisation, dialogue, structure, style, plot construction, editing and world-building.
At the end of the course, participants will have the opportunity to share some of their work during an intimate final reading at Pandora Studio. Participation in the reading is always optional.

Trial sessions
Trial sessions will take place at Pandora Studio on August 30th and September 6th from 11:00h until 13:00h.
Join us to experience Sarah’s creative and supportive teaching approach, try a selection of writing exercises and meet other potential participants. The trial is a relaxed opportunity to discover whether the full course feels right for you.

What should I bring to the trial?

Please bring a notebook and a pen or pencil. We recommend writing by hand during the session, as it can feel more direct and intuitive.
Please also prepare a short piece of your own writing entitled “Becoming”. This can be:
A paragraph of no more than 100 words, or
A poem or speech of no more than 10 lines.
You can interpret the title literally or metaphorically and write about any subject you like. The piece does not need to be finished or polished.
We will use your writing as the starting point for some creative exercises. Sharing your work with the group is always optional, although those who would like to read it aloud and receive feedback will have the opportunity to do so.
After the trial, you can enrol in the full 12-session course.
