Intimate Concert by Carlos Marín Rayo, piano

Join us in an intimate concert at Pandora Studio. The pianist Carlos Marín Rayo will be performing some of the greatest works for this instrument for a small audience that will include a glass of wine.

All the pieces will be introduced by the musician and after the concert there will be some drinks so that you can talk to him and share your perspective.

The duration of the concert will be 75 minutes.

About Carlos..

His critical and audience success have taken him to play all over Europe, in venues such as the Belgais Center for the Arts playing Schubert four-hands together with legendary artist Maria João Pires. He also appears in other main Portuguese venues, in the Netherlands (Concertgebouw and Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, De Doelen Rotterdam, etc.), the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Serbia, Austria, Switzerland, the United States, Australia, as well as every major hall in Spain (Auditorio Nacional, Teatro Real, Fundación Juan March, Palau de la Música de Valencia, Fundación Botín in Santander, etc.). As a soloist with orchestra he has performed concerti by Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Beethoven, Mozart, Saint-Saens, Shostakovich and Stravinsky, amongst others, together with ensembles such as the PHION Orkest, CvA Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Ciudad de Almería, Camerata Eutherpe, Concerto Moderno and others; conducted by maestri such as Antony Hermus, Michael Thomas, Cesar Viana or Jean-Bernard Pommier. Carlos is also a regular guest player in the National Orchestra of Spain. Carlos is a graduate of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studiedunder the guidance of Frank van de Laar. Before that, his main mentors were Mariana Gurkova, Nino Kereselidze, Graham Jackson and Joaquín Soriano. He has also studied historical keyboards performance with Olga Pashchenko. As an advocate of contemporary music, he has premiered and been the dedicatee of countless works by eminent European composers such as David del Puerto Jimeno, Hugo Gómez-Chao, Miguel Bustamante Guerrero or Cesar Viana. He has been prized in various international competition, such as the 1st prize at the Euterpe International Piano Competition in Corato, Italy, 2nd prize and Audience prize at the prestigious Young Pianist Foundation Competition in Amsterdam in 2019, as well as the 3rd prize at the International Villa Rospigliosi Competition (Italy) in 2023. Carlos receives support by institutions such as Juventudes Musicales de España, Comunidad de Madrid, Fundación Eutherpe and Fundación la Caixa, which recently supported him with one of their prestigious postgraduate fellowships. In 2023 he was Artist in Residence at the George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, US.
